COORDINATION WITH FORWARD UNIT CHECKLIST

A platoon or squad that plans movement through a friendly forward unit must coordinate with that unit for safe passage. If no time or place has been designated for the coordination, the platoon or squad leader must coordinate with the S-3 (Operations), who in turn must coordinate with the forward unit’s commander.

Upon completion of the operations order, the platoon or squad leader should coordinate with the other platoon or squad leaders working in the same areas. If unknown, the S-3 (Operations) can help arrange the needed coordination between elements. The leaders should exchange the following information with adjacent units in the area.
