Ereshu - A centaur clan of the Plains of Dust.

Flashfire - A dormant volcano in the Plains of Dust.

Gal Tra’Kalas - A city founded by the Silvanesti on the eastern coast of the Plains of Dust. It was destroyed during the Cataclysm.

Gilthanas - A prince of the Qualinesti.

Goldmoon - One of the famed Heroes of the Lance. Widow of Riverwind. Now head of the Citadel of Light on Schallsea Island.

Grandfather Tree - A gigantic vallenwood tree growing in the Plains of Dust. It is revered by the local inhabitants. Some even believe it is a manifestation of the god Zivilyn.

Hogan Bight - Lord Governor of the city of Sanction.

Horemheb - Centaur of the Willik clan of Duntollik.

Ian Durne - Commander of Sanction’s city guard, who later turned out to be an assassin of the Dark Knights. See The Clandestine Circle, by Mary H. Herbert.

Iyesta - Brass dragon overlord of the eastern Plains of Dust. Commonly known as “Splendor.”

Karthay - A large island to the northeast of Ansalon. It is due north of the Minotaur Empire.

kefre - A hot drink found in Khur that is gaining popularity throughout Ansalon.

Kern - A region of northeastern Ansalon that borders the realm of the dragon overlord Malystryx and the Blood Sea of Istar.

Khalkist Mountains - A range of mountains that run along eastern Ansalon.

Kharolis Mountains - A range of mountains south of Qualinesti and west of the Plains of Dust.

Khellendros - A blue dragon overlord. Sometimes known as “Skie.”

King’s Road - One of the only major roads through the northern Plains of Dust. It once served to link Silvanost with Tarsis, but it has fallen into disrepair.

kirath - The elite warrior scouts of the Silvanesti.

Kiri-Jolith - The god beloved by the Knights of Solamnia

Knights of Neraka - The so-called “Dark Knights,” originally formed to serve the dark goddess Takhisis.

Kordath - A nomadic tribe of the southern Plains of Dust.

Kothas - The southernmost of the two islands of northeast Ansalon that, along with Mithas, forms the Minotaur Empire.

Krynn - The world.

Leonidas - Centaur member of the Missing City militia and close friend of Linsha Majere.

Lunitari - Goddess of Neutral magic, incarnate as the red moon.

Malys - see Malystryx.

Malystryx - A red dragon overlord with a vast realm in eastern Ansalon. Malystryx is the most powerful dragon in Ansalon.

Mariana Calanbriar - Half-elf captain of the Missing City militia.

Mem-Ban - A town in the northern Plains of Dust.

Mem-Thon - A coastal town to the northeast of the Missing City.

Menneferen - A centaur.

Methanfire - The blue dragon of Bendic Darthassian.

Mina - A young Dark Knight who has led the armies of Neraka in several successful battles in Ansalon. See Dragons of a Fallen Sun, Dragons of a Lost Star, and Dragons of a Vanished Moon by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

Missing City - A city on the eastern coast of the Plains of Dust. This city was rebuilt by the Legion of Steel and served as the center of Iyesta’s realm. It was captured by the Tarmak shortly after the great storm in the summer of 38 SC.

Mithas - The northernmost of the two islands of northeast Ansalon that, along with Kothas, forms the Minotaur Empire.

New Sea - The great inland sea of central Ansalon, so named because it was formed during the Cataclysm.

Nordmaar - One of the northernmost realms of Ansalon.

Nuitari - God of Evil magic, incarnate as the black moon.

Onysablet - Black dragon overlord. Commonly known as “Sable.”

Orchard House - A public house in Missing City.

Phalinost - A city on the southeastern border of the Silvanesti Forest.

Plains of Dust - A vast arid region of southern Ansalon.

Qualinesti - The forest realm of the elves in southwestern Ansalon.

Red Rose - A river in the Plains of Dust.

Riverwind - One of the famed Heroes of the Lance and husband of Goldmoon. He died fighting the dragon overlord Malystryx. See Spirit of the Wind, by Chris Pierson.

Rough, the - The rocky, scrubby grasslands on the outskirts of the Missing City.

Sable - see Onysablet.

Saifhum - A large island that lies between Karthay and Kern in the Blood Sea of Istar.

Sancrist - A large island west of mainland Ansalon. It serves as the home for the Knights of Solamnia.

Sara Dunstan - Founder of the Legion of Steel.

Scorpion Wadi - A large canyon northwest of the Missing City.

Silvanesti - The forest realm of the elves in southeastern Ansalon.

Silvanost - The capital city of Silvanesti.

Silvara - A female silver dragon who fell in love with Gilthanas.

Sinking Wells - A favorite campsite of the Legion of Steel in the Plains of Dust.

Sirenfal - A brass dragon.

Solinari - God of Good magic, incarnate as the white moon.

Sunrise - A gold dragon and companion of Ulin Majere.

Stenndunuus - Blue dragon overlord of the central Plains of Dust. Commonly known as “Thunder.”

Takhisis - Evil goddess, also known as the Queen of Darkness.

talon - A unit of the Knights of Neraka consisting of nine knights and a commanding officer.
